Yes, I believe it is a sign. A sign of hope that it truly is Biblical.
Here is another verse that directly has to do with this in Matthew 16:4.
"An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed.
And what was the sign of Jonah?
Jonah and the whale because Jonah refused to go to Nineveh to warn them.
God will not be mocked.

Did it occur to anyone that if this is the sign of Jonah... the sign will happen to them because they stayed silent about warning others about their evil ways?
Yes. To all of the above! It’s been a very, very long time since the ‘civilized’ world has looked to the skies for signs. God promised signs in the skies. We only have to look, and repent.🙏🙏
I grew up with wonderful parents and grandparents who taught us to observe nature! It’s where God’s creation speaks so clearly and how it demonstrates the miracles! I’ve loved the skies and all things weather, too. It’s a shame that light pollution prevents us from seeing the stars! Several years ago, I saw the Milky Way and wrapped up for several cold nights to watch….amazing!🙏🙏
I'm like that with the moon. If there is a full moon I'm out there enjoying the miracle that it is. Beautiful and necessary. I also periodically see something wonderful in nature and am overwhelmed by the proof of God.
And then there are dogs of course. One of the greatest gifts to man. 🐕
They are the one companion that truly gives unconditional love!❤️
A couple of years ago, I was able to watch a caterpillar turn overnight into a chrysalis and took pictures of the process, including the day it broke out and began removing all the fluid from its wings to fly! I made a Shutterfly book for my grandkids to experience! It was such a blessing and a miracle as they are hard to find. Metamorphosis is just one of God’s amazing miracles of creation!🙏🙏
I firmly believe that this particular total eclipse will be a sign. Hopefully not foreshadowing ominous events, but rather a turn of events for America.
I remember the one in 2017, the totality came very near me in Southern Illinois, and this one will cross over the path of the previous one, making a cross shape at a certain location there.
I live near Hopkinsville KY (2017 Totality) and I felt it. 7 years later totality is near my hometown of Shelbyville, IN.
The Diamond effect moment felt life changing. It looked incredible and it is remarkably similar to the photo of the moment of conception. A rebirth, so to speak.

I'm not trying to imply that Jesus is coming back that day, BUT, it is very interesting to note that there is a moment during the full eclipse, when brilliant radiating light breaks through the intense darkness. That moment is called "A Diamond Ring." How fitting since Jesus is the bridegroom, and we are the bride. Just something interesting to think about.

First total solar eclipse here was during Revolutionary War, next one was during Civil War!!! And the next one was during Trump's first year in office. And now this one, as the tide is turning. Next one is not for 200 years or something:)

I like that supposition about how it is a type of Jonah sign, especially since it involves a Nineveh.
But of course, the sign of Jonah specifically referred to the three days and three nights in the tomb, then the resurrection.

There was a solar eclipse at the time of Jonah going to Ninevah! Look up the Assyrian eclipse! It's famous!
The nineveh eclipse was documented as a 5 minute eclipse, like the one on 4/8 will be just over 5 minutes.
5 is the number of Grace. I pray we respond like nineveh did to the message of Jonah, in repentance.

The city of Nineveh was finally destroyed in fulfillment of the prophet Nahum's prophecy.
Apparently though they repented and began worshipping God, they backslid to their old ways and God destroyed them.
So, we need to remember the entire story of Nineveh.
